Your favourites – brass bands – are back on the streets of Poznań! For nine days of the festival, the city will come alive with the sound of instruments and unexpected encounters with beloved brass bands from across Europe.
The legendary Malta Festival theme, composed by Jerzy Satanowski, has shaped the festival’s musical identity over the years – its distinctive trumpet call echoing through the streets and creating a festive atmosphere. This June, we’ll once again welcome three brass bands from Europe to Poznań. Throughout the entire festival, they’ll surprise locals in unusual urban locations – inviting everyone to join in the music and celebration.

La Dinamo (20–22 June)
A Catalan band that quite literally… moves. La Dinamo is a unique funk-powered brass band on wheels – a mobile street party on bicycles. Their show, Music on Cycles, is an interactive concert in motion, with the audience becoming part of the experience. The project was born in 2014, blending African American music, street performance, and cycling as a form of transport. Since 2016, they have performed at major festivals in Catalonia and Spain, as well as in France, the UK, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Croatia, and China. Malta Festival marks their first performance in Poland.

La Confizerie (23–25 June)
A 15-member French brass band that boldly blends disco, techno, and Latino sounds with elegance and flair. La Confizerie performs with a wink, but with top-tier musicality – their concerts are stylish, high-energy, and delightfully unpredictable. Expect rhythms that sweep the crowd off their feet and sophisticated melodies that charm the ears. A vibrant show that’s sure to light up more than one Poznań courtyard.

Bandakadabra (26–28 June)
Described by Carlo Petrini – journalist and founder of the Slow Food movement – as an “urban brass band”, Bandakadabra hails from Turin and draws creative energy from the city itself. Brass and percussion are their language, and their powerful, marching-band-style energy takes on every genre – from jazz to pop to pure experimentation. With over 400 performances across Europe under their belt, they’ve appeared at festivals like Paléo Festival, Suoni delle Dolomiti, Jazz sous les pommiers, Premio Tenco, Festival della Mente, and Musicultura. They’ve also shared stages with artists such as Vinicio Capossela, Malika Ayane, Willie Peyote, and Samuel from Subsonica.
